Welcome to Care Extra Plus a ‘not for profit’ Community Interest Company providing home care in Deal, Dover, Sandwich and surrounding areas.
It can be very difficult to know where to begin when you suddenly find yourself or a family member in need of help with personal care. Dressing, bathing, going to the toilet or taking medication are such personal things, and you will effectively be asking a stranger to help you do them.
How do you know that you will be able to trust the carer, and that the carer is experienced, will understand your needs, and will be discreet? Care Extra Plus (CEP) aims to take the worries out of this situation and make it simple for you to find a top quality, trustworthy care worker.
We vet self-employed carers to ensure that they work to the highest standards and then introduce them to clients. Clients are given a range of carers to choose from, and in this way should be able to pick someone they like, and who has the right skills and interests to meet their individual needs.
Many elderly people have very little contact with the outside world. Their carer may be the only person they see from day to day, so making sure this is quality time can make all the difference. Our visits are a minimum of 45 minutes but we aim for an hour as this gives time for a chat and possibly a cup of tea as well. Because we are a not for profit company we can provide more time with our clients at the same cost as commercial companies charge for shorter visits.
CEP was established by a group of professional people who believe people in need of care and support should have access to a good service at an affordable price. We also believe those who provide the service should be rewarded fairly for doing a valuable job. CEP can do this as our only objective is to cover our costs, not to make a profit.
We also know that the success of any organisation depends on the quality of their work force. We can guarantee that Care Extra Plus care workers are paid considerably more than the average for the care sector, which enables us to attract good quality and experienced care workers to work with us.
